Everybody’s “It”
Overview
Objective: Learn how to tag each other safely, look forward as you run.
Why teach this lesson? Teaching these foundational skills will help players interact and move safely, even while running.
Materials: None.
Number of players: 3+
Instructions
This spin on the classic game of tag has non-stop action!
Everybody is “it” and everybody can also get tagged.
When a player gets tagged, they must sit down immediately. They sit until the player who tagged them also gets tagged. Then they can get back in the game.
If two players tag each other at the same time they can play Full-Body Rock, Paper, Scissors (instructions provided on Aware Teacher website) to determine who sits down.
Tips
Demonstrate safe tagging technique. Have your friends tag each other on arms, not heads or torsos.
The beauty of this game is in its simplicity. It requires no equipment, has few rules, and can be played with limited time.
You can come back to this game when you need a quick activity - but don’t play it so long that your friends get bored!
